Sonor is a German manufacturer of percussion instruments and hardware. Known from the early 1900s as well constructed drum sets, Sonor products were also very heavy. They were known as “The Rolls” of drums because they were very expensive.
Nevertheless, they were preferred by such artists as Nicko McBrain of Iron maiden, Steve Smith of Journey, and jazzman Jack DeJohnette. Sonor drums have several unique features, including under-sized shells and exotic finishes. Sonor also makes African, Latin, and marching percussion equipment.
